The treatment of the patient was successful

A 47-year-old cancer patient was cured through the treatment of CRT cell therapy at KIMS Health Center in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The patient had B-Cell non hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) type of cancer, which occurs in B cells. It is a part of the white cell. This increases the risk of leukemia, which also affects the immune system of the body. The treatment team said that all the 6 phases of the patient's therapy had been done but the chances of survival were very low.

How was the treatment done

Dr. Bijay P Nair, Consultant, Hemato-Oncology Department, KIMS Health, says that the decision of therapy was taken after chemo. In this process, the T cells of the patient's body were modified in the lab and artificial T cells were inserted into the body. These T cells played a big role in destroying the cancer cells.

This is a therapy in which the immune cells of the body are strengthened, due to which the cancer cells will get destroyed inside the body itself. Its trials are going on in India.
